Pipiwai Trail to Waimoku Falls
Maui, Hawaii February 19, 2004 The Pipiwai Trail can be found in Haleakala National Park on the island of Maui. It is a 1.5 mile hike through beautiful bamboo forests, terminating at the spectacular 400-foot tall Waimoku Falls. Several smaller scenic waterfalls can also be seen along the way. |

 The gate at the start of the trail. Below, one of several bridge crossings offering views of the streams and pools along the trail.   The bamboo forest begins about 1/4th of the way up the trail.   Several smaller waterfalls and natural pools along the way provide a good way to cool off before reaching Waimoku Falls.   The end of the trail at the base of Waimoku Falls.
